Whey protein isolate, plant-based protein powder, creatine and magnesium glycinate — chosen for people who are eating less than they used to.

When appetite drops, protein is usually the first thing to fall short and the last thing you want to lose. Whey protein isolate is filtered to remove most of the lactose and absorbs quickly. The plant-based protein powder here is built from fava bean isolate and fermented yeast protein, for anyone who does better without dairy. Around them sit creatine, magnesium glycinate, omega-3, a daily multivitamin and a probiotic — unremarkable foundations that become harder to reach from food alone as portions get smaller.

These are the questions our providers answer in the clinic every week. This is what they answer with.

Whey or plant-based protein powder?

Whey protein isolate is dairy-derived, fast-absorbing and complete. The plant-based option uses fava bean protein isolate with fermented nutritional yeast protein — dairy-free, soy-free and gluten-free, at a comparable protein per serving. For most people the decision comes down to digestion and taste rather than one being superior.
